Product Description

Bespoke internal glass door panels are made from toughened glass in 8mm, 10mm or 12mm thicknesses. Choose a clear, extra-clear low-iron, tinted or satin finish and order the glass to the dimensions needed for your interior doorway, with polished edges supplied as standard.

A glass door makes it easy to separate two areas while retaining a sense of openness. Clear glass lets natural light carry through a hallway or between rooms, while a satin finish provides a degree of visual privacy. Grey and bronze tints give the panel a distinctive decorative appearance.

The range includes rectangular panels as well as selected cut-off-corner and raked shapes for more individual openings. Clear, low-iron, grey tinted, bronze tinted and satin toughened glass are offered. The panel is intended for an internal glass-door installation, and the chosen thickness must suit the planned hinge and handle system.

Enter the dimensions once the opening is finished and the hardware has been selected. The order form allows sides up to 3000mm and notes a 2mm manufacturing tolerance. Allow for the clearances and glass reductions required by the actual fittings, rather than ordering to the exact opening size.

Hinge cut-outs, holes and other machining should be specified before the glass is made. A fitting drawing is helpful when the holes need to match a particular hinge or pull handle. Hinges, handles and other door fittings are sold separately; the product is a prepared glass panel, not a complete ready-to-hang door set.

After installation, wipe the glass with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Avoid harsh abrasives, and check door alignment and fittings periodically so the panel operates freely and does not strike adjacent surfaces.

Made-to-Measure Glass Doors

At The Glass Warehouse, we manufacture made-to-measure glass doors for homes, offices and commercial interiors. Our bespoke toughened glass panels are manufactured to your required dimensions, giving you the flexibility to create a contemporary glass door that suits your installation.

Whether you’re replacing an existing glass door, creating a modern entrance between rooms or designing a frameless office door, our range of toughened glass doors offers a choice of sizes, thicknesses and finishes.

Our glass doors are manufactured using toughened safety glass. They can also be supplied with polished edges, drilled holes, notches and hinge cut-outs for compatible door fittings.

Choose Your Glass Door Finish

We offer five glass finishes to suit different interior styles and practical requirements.

Clear Toughened Glass Doors

A classic choice for modern interiors, clear toughened glass provides excellent visibility and allows natural light to flow between rooms. Standard clear glass has a subtle green tint, most noticeable along its polished edges.

For other made-to-measure applications, explore our clear toughened glass range.

Extra Clear (Low Iron) Glass Doors

Low iron glass offers outstanding clarity with significantly less green tint than standard clear glass. This makes it an excellent option for minimalist interiors where a clean, almost invisible glass appearance is desired.

Grey Tinted Glass Doors

Grey tinted glass creates a stylish, contemporary finish. Its smoky appearance reduces light transmission while retaining transparency, making it particularly suitable for sophisticated residential and commercial interiors.

Bronze Tinted Glass Doors

Bronze tinted glass provides a warm, elegant appearance that works beautifully with timber, stone and neutral interior finishes. It is an excellent choice for creating a distinctive feature door.

Frosted Satin Glass Doors

Our frosted satin toughened glass provides a smooth, translucent appearance that allows natural light through while obscuring direct visibility. It is ideal for meeting rooms, studies and other areas where additional privacy is desirable.

For inspiration, read our guide to creative applications for frosted glass.

Bespoke Frameless Glass Doors Cut to Size

Our frameless glass door panels are available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm toughened glass. The appropriate specification will depend on your chosen fittings, glass dimensions and installation requirements.

Every panel can be customised using our online ordering tool, with options including:

  • Made-to-measure glass dimensions
  • Clear, low iron, grey, bronze and satin glass finishes
  • 8mm, 10mm and 12mm toughened glass
  • Polished glass edges as standard
  • Optional hinge and socket cut-outs
  • Optional drilled holes for door handles and other fittings
  • Notches, radius corners and additional glass processing
  • Drawing uploads for more complex specifications

Important: All required holes, cut-outs and processing must be specified before manufacture. Toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after the toughening process.

Glass Door Hinges, Handles and Fittings

Choosing the correct hardware is essential for a successful glass door installation. Your hinges and handles must be suitable for the glass thickness, panel size and weight of your finished door.

We supply a range of glass door hinges and patch fittings, including wall-to-glass and glass-to-glass options for compatible installations.

You can also browse our glass door handles, knobs and locks, with finishes including stainless steel, chrome, black and brass-effect options.

Popular options include our double-sided stainless steel pull handle and black square pull handles. Please check each product’s glass thickness compatibility and drilling requirements before ordering.

For suitable door systems, we also stock glass door patch fittings and latch sets.

Please note: Hinges, handles, locks and other fittings are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions About Glass Doors

What thickness of glass is best for an internal glass door?

We offer 8mm, 10mm and 12mm toughened glass doors. The correct thickness depends on the finished door dimensions, weight, type of hinges and the requirements of your installation. Always check the manufacturer’s hardware specifications before ordering.

Can I order a glass door with hinge cut-outs?

Yes. We offer optional hinge cut-outs and other glass processing. If you purchase suitable hinges from us, we can work from the corresponding fitting requirements. Alternatively, provide accurate technical drawings for your chosen hardware.

Do glass doors come with handles and hinges?

No. This product is for the made-to-measure toughened glass panel only. Door hardware is purchased separately from our glass fittings range.

Can I choose a glass door that offers more privacy?

Yes. Frosted satin glass is the best option in our range where obscured visibility is required. Grey and bronze tinted glass provide darker appearances but remain transparent.

Are your glass doors made to measure?

Yes. Each door panel is manufactured according to the glass dimensions and processing options you enter when ordering. Please ensure you provide finished glass sizes, rather than opening sizes, and make the necessary allowances for hinges, handles and clearances.

Can toughened glass be drilled after manufacture?

No. All holes, notches and cut-outs must be completed before the glass is toughened. It is therefore essential that your final drawings and hardware requirements are accurate when placing your order.

What are the best glass doors?

As a market-leading manufacturer and glass supplier, here at The Glass Warehouse we are well positioned to offer the very best interior glass doors due to our vast industry knowledge and experience in supplying bespoke glass materials for various project requirements.

We are proud to be certified by The British Standards Institution (BSI) for the production of toughened safety glass, along with regular impact testing and safety checks.

In terms of choice and appearance, we offer as much variety as possible to guarantee that you’ll find a suitable made-to-measure product that’s right for you. From shower screens for bathrooms to glass doors and wall panels, we can provide all kinds of interior solutions.

Our range of glass doors includes hinged glass doors, sliding glass doors, and frameless glass doors – with different size options to fit different openings, plus a wide selection of glass fittings to ensure you can install your glass door to your door frame securely.

Of course, you don’t have to choose standard glass for your installation, either – not if you would prefer the crystal-clear look of low iron glass doors, the glamour of tinted glass doors, or the extra privacy of sandblasted satin glass doors.

If you are unsure about which type of glass door you want to install or have any questions, please call our office on 020 8500 1188 and a member of our team will be happy to help!

How can I make glass doors more private?

Many people often prefer a higher level of privacy than transparent glass allows, but don’t want to lose the increased natural light that glass internal doors can help to spread.

This is easy to achieve – especially in the home – through the use of tinted or sandblasted (frosted) glass, both of which are supplied here at The Glass Warehouse.

We also understand that in many office spaces, showrooms, or commercial buildings, this level of privacy is necessary to ensure that people are not always being watched due to the transparent nature of using clear glass for doors.

With this in mind, using satin, textured, patterned, or coloured glass with a semi-obscure finish will make the glass translucent instead. This slightly increases visual privacy, but doesn’t completely remove the addition of natural light, which is of course the main purpose of a glass door providing a better level of visibility than opaque doors.

Sandblasted glass is a great choice when greater privacy is required, such as in bathrooms or private offices. Commonly known as frosted glass because of its blurred frosty look, this can produce varying levels of opacity, so you can choose the right level for your project.

This is why it’s not only popular for hinged or sliding doors, but also glass screen panels and balustrades for a range of interior and exterior installation types.

At The Glass Warehouse, we offer satin glass doors, which have a smooth matt finish that looks beautiful in bathrooms, offices, and any number of environments.
