Yes, most glass splashbacks can go behind a hob – with a few exceptions. The glass will need to be toughened first to prevent the material from cracking under the heat.

Are glass splashbacks heat resistant?

With the exception of glass mirrors, and therefore mirror splashbacks, we toughen the glass we use for the majority of our products – whether it’s glass doors or glass splashbacks, you don’t have to worry about a deterioration in their condition.

Do glass splashbacks need to be toughened?

Although we do toughen all of our glass splashbacks as standard, except for mirrored glass, the answer to this really depends on where you will place it.

For instance, if you are adding a glass splashback to your kitchen for décor only, then you may not feel the need to use toughened glass, though this will mean it is less resilient against damage and everyday wear and tear.

With our toughened glass splashbacks for kitchens, you can place them anywhere in the room without having to worry about their durability.

How much does a glass splashback cost?

How do I properly attach a splashback to the wall?

To securely attach your splashback to the wall, use a non-solvent, acid-free adhesive. This type of adhesive is ideal for ensuring a strong bond without damaging the splashback or the wall. If you’ve chosen a splashback with pre-drilled holes, you can also use screws. Be sure to select screws that are appropriate for the surface you’re mounting the splashback on, whether it’s wood, brick, plaster, or metal, to ensure a secure installation.

Do you provide screws for mounting splashbacks to walls?

We do not supply screws or other fixings with our splashbacks. This is because the type of screw you need can vary greatly depending on the surface of your wall. Whether your wall is made of wood, brick, plaster, or metal, it will require specific fixings to ensure the splashback is mounted securely. We recommend consulting with a local tradesparson or hardware store to get the appropriate screws for your particular wall material.

Is it possible to cut or modify my glass splashback after purchase?

No, once your glass splashback has been toughened, it cannot be cut or altered in any way. Toughened glass is specially manufactured to enhance its heat resistance and durability. Any attempt to cut or modify the splashback post-manufacture will result in the glass shattering. This applies to all of our toughened glass splashbacks, except for mirrored splashbacks which are not toughened.

What are the thickness options available for your splashbacks?

Our standard recommendation for splashbacks is 6mm thick toughened glass, which offers an excellent balance of strength and aesthetic appeal. However, we also offer splashbacks in a variety of other thicknesses to suit your specific needs, including 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 15mm toughened glass. Thicker options provide additional durability and are ideal for areas where extra strength is needed.

Can you create splashbacks in custom colours?

Absolutely! We specialise in custom color matching for splashbacks. Simply provide us with the name or code of the color you desire, and we’ll match it precisely.
