Our painted, printed, and glitter splashbacks are all available in 6 mm – 15 mm toughened glass, while all mirrored splashbacks are 6 mm thick. Each one can be manufactured to your exact size and shape requirements, with a maximum size of 3000 mm x 1500 mm per individual piece of glass.

All of our products are supplied with polished edges as standard.

How do I choose a kitchen splashback?

When it comes to finding the right splash guard for you, it can be hard to know where to begin. After all, there are many designs out there that may take your fancy!

That’s before you take into consideration how durable the protective panel needs to be so you can successfully house it in the kitchen (or washroom!).

There are a number of different materials available to suit every style of kitchen, with options ranging from glass splashbacks to mirrors – a few things to consider are budget, style, practicality, and any limitations of the available space.

Can glass splashbacks go behind a gas hob?

Yes, most glass splash protectors can go behind a hob – with a few exceptions. The glass will need to be toughened first to prevent the material from cracking under the heat.

This is one of the main things that people look out for when purchasing this type of product. After all, is there any point in ordering one if it’s going to falter at the first hurdle?

With the easy-to-install products and quality materials we offer, if a toughened splashback from our range meets heat and steam coming from a nearby heat source like a hob, it’s well-equipped to withstand high temperatures without warping.

Using toughened glass means it won’t only look the part, but will also last for many years in a cooking area that endures its fair share of wear and tear! You can’t necessarily say the same for less robust vinyl laminate or tile alternatives.

Are glass splashbacks heat resistant?

At The Glass Warehouse, we ensure that our glass splashbacks are toughened, making them suitable for use behind an oven or hob, as they are heat resistant.

Of course, the resistance of a cooker splashback will vary if you’re opting for a different material, so keep this in mind when making your choice. It’s also important to remember that there should be a gap of at least 10cm between the cooktop and panel.

With the exception of glass mirrors, and therefore mirror splashbacks, we toughen the glass we use for the majority of our products – so whether it’s glass doors or backsplashes, you don’t have to worry about a deterioration in their condition.

Do glass splashbacks need to be toughened?

Although we do toughen all of our glass splashbacks as standard, except for mirrored glass, the answer to this really depends on where you intend to place it.

For instance, if you are adding a glass panel to your kitchen for decorative purposes only, then you may not feel the need to use toughened glass, though this will mean it is less resilient against damage and everyday wear and tear.

With our toughened glass splashbacks for kitchens, you can place them anywhere in the room without having to worry about their practicality.

Feel free to fit your toughened splashback in the area of the kitchen that’s most convenient for you, so you can receive maximum satisfaction from the product.

However, you should be aware that if you want to keep your kitchen clean and hygienic, you should stick to using soapy water and soft cloths to clean the glass, as abrasive cleaners are more likely to damage it.

How much does a glass splashback cost?

How do I properly attach a splashback to the wall?

To securely position your perfect splashback, use a non-solvent, acid-free adhesive.

This type of adhesive is ideal for ensuring a strong bond without damaging the product or the wall. If you’ve opted for a backsplash with pre-drilled holes, you can also use screws.

Be sure to select screws that are appropriate for the clean surface you’re mounting it on, whether it’s wood, brick, plaster, or metal, to ensure a secure installation.

You may also want to use sealant around the edges to prevent moisture from getting trapped.

Do you provide screws for mounting splashbacks to walls?

We do not supply screws or other fixings with our kitchen splashbacks. This is because the type of screw you need can vary greatly depending on the surface.

Whether the surface is made of wood, brick, plaster, or metal, it will require specific fixings to ensure the kitchen backsplash is mounted securely.

We recommend consulting with a local tradesperson or hardware store to get the appropriate screws for the particular medium you’re fixing it to.

If you want to avoid drilling, you can use a silicone adhesive to stick the panel directly in place, then apply sealant around the edges to seal the gaps where the splashback meets the surface.

Is it possible to cut or modify my glass splashback after purchase?

No, once your glass splashback has been cut to your custom size and then toughened, it cannot be altered further in any way, meaning any cutouts must be done beforehand.

Toughened glass is specially manufactured to enhance its heat resistance and durability. Any attempt to cut or modify the kitchen splashback post-manufacture will unfortunately result in the glass panel shattering.

This applies to all of our toughened glass splashbacks, except for mirrored ones, which are not toughened (and therefore not suitable for use behind a hob).

What are the thickness options available for your splashbacks?

Our standard recommendation for kitchen splashbacks is 6 mm thick toughened glass, which offers an excellent balance of strength and aesthetic appeal.

However, we also offer kitchen splashbacks in a variety of other thicknesses to suit your specific needs, including 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, and 15 mm toughened glass.

Thicker options provide additional durability and are ideal for areas where extra strength and scratch resistance is needed.

Can you create splashbacks in custom colours?
