Design Your Bespoke Integral Blind System

Sometimes referred to as ‘between-glass blinds’, integral blinds are the ideal solution for low-maintenance light and privacy control in glass windows and doors.

With the elegant appearance of Venetian blinds, they operate much the same way in terms of movement and tilt functions. However, instead of being fitted on the interior side of the window or door, integral blinds are installed between two panes of glass in double glazing.

This creates a sealed unit with the blinds inside, sheltered from dirt and debris so you won’t have to keep dusting them. Magnetic integral blinds have the added benefit of extremely simple cord-free operation, as the blinds can be raised, lowered, or tilted by sliding the magnetic control along the guide on one side.

Whether it’s a window or door, these integral blinds are designed to fit perfectly inside the glass unit, giving you all the benefits of Venetian blinds without the drawbacks. Upgrade your windows, patio doors, bi-fold doors, or French doors with an integral blinds system today!

Integral blinds for windows, French doors, and bi-folding doors

Manufactured with durable materials, these modern blinds offer a long-lasting, stress-free experience with their discreet and convenient magnetic functionality. The minimalist mechanism also contributes to their sophisticated look.

While many systems come with generic-looking controls in a metallic silver finish that doesn’t match its surroundings, our beautiful magnetic blinds come with colour-matched controls. Whichever shade you choose from our range of colours, your integral blinds are guaranteed to be aesthetically pleasing.

The perfect solution for blinds on new windows, sliding doors, or bifold doors in any residential or public building, magnetic integral blinds are the best option to provide privacy and solar shading, all in one low-maintenance sealed unit.

    • A modern design, paired with a range of customisable slat colours and matching accessories, ensuring the blinds are a natural extension of your interior styl
    • Safe operation with magnetic blocks that allow you to effortlessly raise, lower, and tilt your blinds without worrying about exposed cords.
    • Manufactured with high-quality materials and balanced magnetic systems, these blinds promise longevity and smooth, precise operation in any environment.
    • Once sealed inside a double glazed unit, this maintenance-free system won’t accumulate dust and dirt, so you don’t need to clean the slats.
    • With factory-fitted units designed for a straightforward setup, installation is quick and hassle-free, making them ideal for both new projects and renovations.

Our standard glass units feature a 28mm glass thickness (including a 20mm spacer bar and 4mm glass on either side) and adaptable dimensions, so this integral blind system is sure to fit a variety of window sizes and architectural requirements.

Perfect for living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms, integral blinds provide customisable light control and privacy while enhancing the modern aesthetic of your home. Great for patio doors and windows or doors in conservatories.

    • Commercial and Office Environments

Create a professional and sleek look in boardrooms, open-plan offices, and reception areas. The tilt-only option is especially recommended for public and commercial buildings, ensuring safety and durability with an extended warranty.

    • Healthcare and Assisted Living Facilities

Their easy-to-operate, cordless design makes magnetic integrated blinds ideal for care facilities where safety, hygiene, and ease of maintenance are paramount. No exposed cords or blind slats that can trap dust or cause accidents – no problem!

    • Hospitality and Leisure Venues

Whether in hotels, restaurants, or conference centres, Venetian integral blinds offer an elegant solution that complements a variety of interior design themes, while providing effective light and temperature control for enhanced energy efficiency.

    • Specialised Architectural Installations

With flexible sizing options, integral blinds are suitable for bespoke projects that require precise integration into modern architectural designs – providing the classic look of Venetian blinds, but inside a glass unit for a streamlined look.

    How are integral blinds operated?

There are plenty of different blind mechanisms out there, including remote-control motorised blinds, corded blinds with side-winder operation, and solar control blinds. What sets magnetic integrated blinds apart is that they are operated using a magnetic slider instead of a traditional cord or modern remote.

Rather than using P system blinds with an internal motor that’s controlled manually by an external knob, or an expensive and complicated smart system, magnetic slider blinds offer the simple convenience of moving a magnetic slider up and down.

Not only are these integral blinds installed inside the sealed unit, manufactured to fit precisely in between the two panes of glass, but the mechanism is also hidden for a sleek and minimal look. A narrow guide at the edge allows the integrated blinds to be raised, lowered, or tilted by moving magnetic blocks.

The magnetic transmission works through the panes of glass on just one side or both, so you can manually adjust the integral blinds inside the sealed glazing with little effort – whether they’re installed in double glazed or triple glazed windows, sliding doors, or bifold doors.

Any qualified glass door or window installer should be able to install these integral blinds along with new glazing or retrofit them into existing glazing systems. So, no matter if you’re replacing glass panes in windows or upgrading them, integrated magnetic blinds are a fantastic choice.

What are warm edge spacer bars for integrated blinds?

Double glazing and triple glazing are staple systems for modern windows and glass doors, as they use multiple panels to increase insulation and reduce sound and heat transmission, improving the building’s energy performance thanks to the reduced heat loss.

When you install integral blinds inside a double glazed sealed unit, spacers will be used to maintain the width of the cavity around the perimeter frame. This defines the distance between the inner pane and outer pane and forms a direct contact between them.

This creates a ‘thermal bridge’ where low outdoor temperatures could spread to the interior pane if there is a large thermal difference between the outside and inside. Warm edge spacer bars can help to improve energy efficiency here if they’re made from a less conductive material.

Without warm edge spacer bars bridging the perimeter of the system, there is a higher risk of heat loss during cold temperatures and condensation forming on the interior pane, which could lead to mould growing inside. It’s therefore essential to consider the material of your spacer bars.
